Beda Administrasi dengan Manajemen
Administrasi berasal dari Bahasa Latin Administrare yang berarti membantu atau melayani. Dalam arti sempit sebagai keseluruhan pencatatan secara tertulis dan penyusunan sistematis dari keterangan-keterangan yang ada agar mempermudah memperoleh ikhtisar keterangan. Kegiatan dalam hal ini yaitu serangkaian aktivitas menghimpun, mencatat, mengolah, menggandakan, mengirim dan menyimpan keterangan-keterangan yang diperlukan dalam setiap kerja sama.
Dalam arti luas, administrasi merupakan keseluruhan proses kerja sama antara dua orang atau lebih dalam rangka mencapaiu tujuan secara efektif dan efisien. Dengan tiga ciri pokok :
- Administrasi merupakan proses yang berarti terdiri atas serangkaian kegiatan, yang dimulai sejak adanya dua orang atau lebih bersepakat melakukan kerjsama dalam bidang tertentu. Dalam hal ini adalah bidang pendidikan mengelola sekolah dan segala aspek lainnya.
- Terdapat dua orang atau lebih yang bekerja sama.
- Setiap kerjasama dalam adminsitrasi dilakukan dalam rangka mencapai tujuan dan efisiensi. Tujuan itu ditetapkan sebelumnya berdasar kesepakatan bersama di antara pihak-pihak yang bekerja sama.
Manajemen :
proses pendayagunaan semua orang dan fasilitas. Hal ini agar proses kerjasama (dalam administrasi) dapat mencapai tujuan secara efektif dan efisien tentunya dengan melibatkan semua orang dan fasilitas.
Manajemen merupakan kajian administrasi ditinjau dari segi prosesnya. Manajemen merupakan proses yang terdiri atas kegiatan-kegiatan dalam upaya mencapai tujuan kerja sama (administrasi) secara efisien. Gordon (1976) dalam Bafadal (2004:39) menyatakan bahwa manajemen merupakan metode yang digunakan administrator untuk melakukan tugas-tugas tertentu atau mencapai tujuan tertentu.
